In 1991, Dr. Leonard Abrams gathered together a dedicated group of Dentists to create an organization committed to the rapidly emerging discipline of Implant Dentistry. His goals were clear: to form a multi-specialty group of Periodontists, Oral Surgeons, Prosthodontists, General Dentists and Residents who would learn from each other by fostering a free exchange of ideas in an open, collegial environment. As a result of his leadership and vision, the Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration has grown into an organization of over 150 members, with the resources to bring the finest educators of the world in the field of Implant Dentistry to Philadelphia, to share their collective knowledge. Dr Abrams's legacy of a congenial, and elite educational experience, open to all, will continue to flourish in his memory for years to come.
